The rug is well constructed and beautiful. The weave is tight and the geometric pattern is eye catching. For a rug made of jute/sisal the material was softer than expected. I have purchased jute rugs from other manufactures which were considerably more coarse. While I am using this rug under furniture, the rug could possibly be used in an open space and a person could sit or lay on it and still be relatively comfortable. The rug was at a higher price point so I would not consider this a value purchase but rather a luxury purchase. The rug significantly enhances the theme and color scheme in the room so spending the extra money was an excellent decision for me. I have received many positive comments on this selection. Of note, I also purchased a runner and small area rug of this same style so there is a consistent theme/style that flows as you enter the house (small area rug), down a hallway (runner) and into the room with this large area rug. I have hardwood floors so it is an absolute necessity to purchase a non-slip rug pad with this jute rug.
