When we received this rug, it smelled musty and seemed full of dust. It probably was in the warehouse for a long time. We let it air out for a few days and the smell disappeared. The colors are muted and the pattern is discrete. It adds a nice touch to our living room. It is a neutral rug, doesn't make a statement like an oriental rug and doesn't look like an ultra-modern rug either. It is perfect for what we wanted.

This rug is predominately gray, with lighter and darker shades. It has a beautiful sheen to it and appears lighter or darker depending on the way the light hits it. I purchased it because it reminds me of the sand an the beach that has lines created from the tide. It appears very high quality, but is thinner than hand tufted wool rugs that have a backing. However, I am pleased that it does not have any sort of backing, which means it will last longer. The price on Wayfair was significantly cheaper than I was able to find it anywhere else. I am SO happy with my purchase!

The picture of the rug is gorgeous, and I even sought out other pictures on the internet to make sure. was excited until it arrived. The actual color looks as if the rug above has been sunbathing for 3 years. There are no purples or reds....it is a medium brown and icky bronze. There is no red or purple in it at all. Bronze orange patterns throughout. If I took a picture of this rug and posted it, you wouldn't think it was the same rug at all, other than the design.
