The rug is very shiny, almost like velour. I was expecting a different texture when I read wool was one of the two items it was made of. I am not sure yet if I am going to keep it because I do like the colors. There is hardly any beige however. Black is the predominant color of you brush is one way. It is a very strange texture, more like a plush blanket.
