I just got my rug yesterday so I can't speak to longevity but I really love the colors, and the rug does feel soft in the sense that I'll definitely be laying on it lol. I'm currently off-gassing it at my dads place because I have pet birds and its unsafe to off-gas new furniture in the same space as them. Thankfully with the help of Wayfair who got in touch with the manufacturer they confirmed that this rug does NOT have any stain guard chemical products added. This is a big deal for anyone that owns birds because stain guard products are lethal to birds. Overall I had a great experience with wayfair and this product

The rich colors really pulled together my space. Just be careful with sizing. I got confused thinking I was ordering a 5x7 and it was 2ft 7 inches by 5 feet.
