Tapis oriental gris anthracite / gris clair noué à la main Malonne

Beautiful rug, absolutely gorgeous. I love the quality, color, and texture. The problem is that it can barely be cleaned at all. The care instructions say "spot clean with water". I had a small dirty spot and getting the rug wet has caused it to brown badly in that area. I thought I must have used a dirty towel to blot the water so I wet a larger area and made it even worse. After doing some research, viscose rugs will brown when they get wet. If you do not ever plan on this rug getting wet at all, then buy it. Otherwise, be very very careful.

Nice, plush underfoot in our tiny vintage 1928 powder bath.

Beautiful rug however... I spot cleaned an area as directed on website (water and mild detergent) and it turned into a giant, unsightly yellow spot that's now ruined my $2,000 rug. I wish they would update the care section of the website to reflect that water CANNOT be used on this type of rug.

Love the rug but it looks lighter in picture. I would have preferred a rug the color of the one pictured
