I think you would have to put this in a protected place outdoors. The top material with the pattern seems like it would not hold up to a lot of snow, ice, or mud too well. The rubber bottom is great and the pattern is nice, so I think it's a great indoor door mat. The size is also very manageable for small spaces. I freaked out when I first unrolled it from the box because it was wrinkled in a way I was afraid would be permanent, but after 24 hours lying flat, it was fine.
