Mine did not have holes to connect the two bars, and when we tried to drill holes and connect them there, it was too wobbly. So, we instead drilled the holes down further, and it is much sturdier. Definitely looks like we got a defective one, but we made it work! Did have a bit of a struggle fitting one of the drawers, and it doesn’t open and close very well, but it works. Box was totally ripped open with pieces in my lobby when it was delivered, not sure how Wayfair can address that other than a more secure packaging, but otherwise that’s not their fault. Came on the expected date. For the price can’t complain.

After days of obsessively flipping through every page for a writing desk I found the perfect one for me. Set aside some time to assemble this one; there's more pieces than you'd anticipate, and the directions could certainly be more detailed. However, if a non-mechanically inclined person like me can assemble this desk by themselves you can too! Tip, whatever step you're on that includes the round screw locks be sure to get them all in while you have the hand space to do so, and always make sure the two primary table top pieces are facing the right way with the smooth sides facing up. It took me 5 1/2 hours to assemble by myself, but as I said I'm also not the first person you'd call to fix or assemble things. The results? The desk is as beautiful and functional as I'd hoped it would be, and it arrived within only a few days of ordering it. This is probably a psychological effect, but I especially like the walled border because it helps me focus on what's in front of me. You can purchase this one with confidence; I can't imagine anyone being disappointed with it.

What a cool desk! Coordinates with traditional or contemporary decor. I love the privacy lip surrounding the desktop. My husband assembled it without much trouble.

Great quality and look to it. Took a while to assemble as one person, but once completed, it is sturdy and beautiful. I bought two to put side by side in my home office and I love it.
