Im very impressed with the overall look of the piece but if I had been advised the shelving would be full of holes and the quality so shoddy I would not have spent the money. Every single shelf has either a hole or a deep gouge where no books can be placed.

Really well made. Wood is actually much more thick in person. Very rich color and a rustic look without being too farmhouse looking. I’d say a modern rustic look as the wood shows the natural flaws and grain but is still highly polished and stained.

OMG! Though this bookcase looked good and thought it would be just functional for the space intended, I’m BLOWN AWAY, by this piece! All wood, has its original grain and imperfection features and beautifully and richly finished. Turns out it’s not just a piece that “looked good” and would be functional, but an exceptional addition to this room!

Tiny bit darker than I thought. Looks good. Sounds too hollow to be black walnut even as scraps glued together.
