I absolutely love this solid real wood island! You can't beat the price. Well it is real wood, it is a lighter wood. I did have a few small pieces with some splintering defects because of this, but nothing a little wood glue can't fix. Other than that, I didn't have any issues with assembly like what other reviewers noted. I found assembly to be rather easy. The pieces were all numbered, but a lot of the numbers had fallen off in the box or elsewhere. This wasn't a big deal as the instructions have good pictures and I was able to figure out which pieces correlated with which numbers. Overall, this piece looks a lot more expensive than it is and feels very solid when put together.

Overall solid piece. The top was difficult to put on. I ended up needing a mallet. The wood panels that divide the front and the back weren’t quite big enough so a little light comes through. But you can’t beat the price!

The closest island table to what I envisioned for my kitchen. It’s got great height, is sturdy and is slightly darker than what the photo shows but that’s okay. 4 stars because the top piece snapped completely in half. Fortunately it did not affect the stability and I covered the line with a runner.

I wanted to love this. It says solid wood. But, when I unpacked it, it smelled like poison...like menthol or camphor. I called the 800# and i received a written answer to my question within 24 hrs. They said it's MDF! So, glue, coloration, etc. VOCs. Burns the eyes. And...1/2 of the island top is damaged. Wayfair is trying to send a replacement, but if this thing keeps poisoning the air around us, I'll have to toss it. It's extremely potent, even outside. Otherwise, it's pretty, but super soft and fragile, horrible instructions, and the panels don't line up, so there are gaps.

This kitchen island is perfect! Solid wood! Great height! Storage! Beautuful! It’s versatile and has storage. I love it. I recommend. I’d purchase again!
