Beautiful and well made - my office is complete with this accent piece

The pictures are true to form and I received exactly what I expected. Like all boxed furniture, there are some obvious repairs made by the manufacturers before shipping which may or may not be an issue for you. Most of the main parts appear to be solid wood. HOWEVER, the entire surface is a thin painted veneer! If you encounter issues with the veneer, this item will be permanently damaged making a repair unlikely.

Really solid piece. I originally wanted the open bookcase that went with this desk, but that was on back order, so I splurged and got this one. Glad I did, its stylish and heavy. Looks great in my room
