Table de salle à manger Andenwood Gateleg

This is a beautifully crafted table. We bought it because our living room is too small to have a permanent dining area. We use it with one leaf down as a small kitchen table for three. When we have guests, we fold both leaves down and take it through to the living room where we can open both leaves up to make a dining table that is large and sturdy enough to seat six comfortably. The table has two openings that serve as handles, which makes it very easy to carry for two people when it is folded, or even for one person (I am a middle-aged man of average height and strength and I can carry the table myself without assistance). The way the "legs" open up is designed in such a way that they do not get in the way of any of the six people seated--which is usually the main issue with gateleg tables. It's also very easy to take care of. I'm as happy as one can be with this purchase.

First, let me start by saying that I love the design. It fits perfectly where I want it and adds lots of seating flexibility to my eating space. That being said, the QA process at the manufacturer is definitely in need of improvement. I have attached a picture of the first table that I received and you can clearly see part of the blemish on the finish surface that ran the whole length of that side of the table. Wayfair was great and offered to replace the table, which I took them up on. The new table arrived (after waiting for four months) and the first time we used it, I noticed that the leaf was bending down away from the center support with only a little weight on it. I flipped the table over and discovered that one of the leaf hinges that supports the end of the table was completely disconnected from the center support. Two of the three screwes that secure it were screwed into the wood, but the leaf wasn't underneath the screws. I unscrewed the very small screws that support the leaf and reassembled the hinge. I took one screw out of the center hinge and put it in the end hinge since that is where most of the weight would come to bear. I hope it holds up. From an engineering perspective, I think it would have been much better to secure the leaves with bronze flathead machine screws and nuts passing through the full thickness of the top instead of very small (1/2") woodscrews coming up from the bottom. So bottom line is that I love the table, am very grateful for Wayfair replacing the damaged one and just hope that the one missing screw and a shakey engineering design doesn't cause it to fall apart down the road.

This sturdy and beautiful table is exactly what we needed. We use it as a sofa-back table until we have guests for dinner. Then we can pull it out and seat up to 6 per table (we bought 2). Great way to make limited space more versatile.
