Thought it would be natural wood top painted black since material says solid wood but there’s a black laminate on top which does not resemble wood, but resembles plastic and also is fading at the edgescorners so you can kind of see where the plastic stops in the wood begins. Which is not ideal.

Overall, the look of the desk is nice. However, there are a couple things that could be improved. The desktop and the drawer front are a veneer and the table legs are wood and painted, so they are a little mismatched. The worst part of the desk is the drawer, it’s completely unusable because it doesn’t fit and doesn’t have drawer slides. There are wood posts on the side and slats on the actual drawer and they don’t fit together well.

The perfect size I was looking for great quality and easy to assemble.

I would not buy nor recommend this desk. It is not made well.

Do not buy this if you need the drawer to be functional. The way the drawer is built is too narrow by just enough that it barely reaches the side tracks- which means it fell on my toes with every light tap. After this occurring several times (completely empty) it finally broke which ironically gave it the extra 1/2 in to fit in the tracks better. It's nice enough otherwise but does have a very plastically finish on the top.
