The desk doesn't open at 90 degrees. It's tipped upwards at the knob end. I will have to relocate the screws for the pumps to allow the desk to be square. This is an engineering flaw. It's disappointing.

It is a complete setup for a good price. A lot of people have talked about how hard it is to put together. I think maybe a couple of tips would help. For the cam lock screws, follow the tip in the booklet to take the plastic part off first and push them into the slots before putting the screws in. To mount it on the wall where studs were 16 on center, I had to use two scraps of wood at the top and bottom of the unit. Where the top piece would hold the cleats and the bottom helps the unit lie flat vertical on the wall.

Pretty sturdy piece. The instructions could have been better. I do recommend this product.

Does what it says. Surprisingly trickier to assemble than I imagined.

This murphy/hidden desk fit the bill for a kid's room short on space. Price, speed of shipping, style, and color were all good or great. Assembly took a while. Not hard, just tedious, with so many joints to connect. And the instructions were borderline adequate, not stellar. The only bummer was the bottom drawer. I knew it was small from other reviews, but man, the opening is so small that it's nearly unusable when assembled according to the directions. I customized it a bit to make the opening bigger, but now it slants downward while open. Yet that's still better than the "proper" way. The mounting set-up is quite good and I like the hydraulic-style hinges for the table top. Those are big plusses. With hindsight, I would've left the bottom area open rather than have a tiny drawer. But once the thing's assembled, I'd have to do it all over again to make that happen.
