I really like this bed. It's hard to tell in the picture I took, but the leather, though faux, is...well, fairly high quality faux. The stitching looks really nice, too, and is done very good. Putting it together wasn't that difficult, either. I placed my box spring and mattress on top and there is enough room for that. Even though you don't have to have one with this bed, I still put my box spring under the mattress to elevate it. With just a mattress it might be too low for some people. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. The bed doesn't make any noises at all when moving around on the mattress, no squeaks or anything; it feels extremely solid. The company who did the delivery wasn't bad, except I had to call them to setup the appointment...they didn't call me. Anyway, it all worked out. If you are thinking about buying this bed, I would definitely recommend it as a choice. Good materials and solid construction for the money.

A little challenging to assemble the slats until you can devise a system that doesn’t break the plastic connectors, but I love the bed.
