Beautiful, but much too tall to be used as a sitting stool of any kind and I’m 5’11”.

A bit to high for sitting but is very beautiful in our master bedroom!

Have I already reviewed this? Well, anyway, this Lord Raffles Gothic Stool is a fantastic buy. It is a big piece of furniture and very tall at 24" to be an ottoman or stool. there is enough edge to place a wine glass or small bowl and use as a side table. Nonetheless, it is an eye-pleaser with deep carvings and not found completely finished easily elsewhere. These are found with a Java wholesaler at less than fifty dollars. But by the time you buy the minimum and have them shipped, worked over and buffed you are looking at a fine piece of workmanship deserving of the expense. On the furniture market it is a good buy here at less than $500.

Exquisitely carved wood with beautiful upholstery. Love the medievalcolonial look. A grand and beautiful piece, albeit large and heavy for a few uses (if that matters). A good high seat (about a counter-height, wide stool) and idealsturdy for occasionally climbing to reach for high itemsbooks. Plan to have it in my studylibrary.
