I really wanted to love this bookshelf because aesthetically it’s gorgeous. The clear acrylic gives it a modern, elegant look, and once assembled it makes for a beautiful display piece. Assembly was fairly straightforward, although I do wish the included screws were a bit longer. Longer screws would have added more stability to the overall structure. Unfortunately, there are several design issues that kept me from giving it a higher rating. First, the bookshelf is noticeably shorter than advertised, which was disappointing. Second, while the vertical support pieces are surprisingly sturdy, the shelves themselves are made from very thin acrylic and flex under even moderate weight. If you place more than 2–3 hardcover books on a shelf, the acrylic begins to bow in the middle. Because of this, it functions better as a decorative display shelf than an actual bookshelf. Another downside is that every single acrylic piece arrives covered in protective plastic. While I understand why it’s there, removing it from all of the edges is tedious and it’s easy to accidentally scratch the acrylic in the process. I was also surprised that no wall anchor was included. Given how lightweight and somewhat flexible the unit is, I think a wall anchor should absolutely be provided for additional safety. Overall, it’s a beautiful piece if your goal is to display a few decorative items, lightweight books, or collectibles. However, if you’re looking for a bookshelf that can actually support a decent collection of books, I would recommend looking elsewhere. It looks fantastic in my apartment, but I expected it to be much more functional than it is. It looks great, and it was packaged well. It also was very easy to put together. Mostly I’m very pleased with it. However, it’s not as sturdy as I’d hoped. Otherwise, I love it!

its pretty but smaller than expected! overall height is 2-3 inches shorter than whats advertised. also worried about load bearing restrictions since none are listed... i wouldnt say its flimsy but definitely nervous it may come crashing down (no wall anchor provided).
