The black glass is a really clean look. The poles are metal and have a nice brushed finish, they don't just look like black plastic poles. The black glass is opaque (so not transparent). Though depicted with four shelves, you can actually just use two or three if you don't want or need the height. Super happy with this for the price. The box came damaged but all the pieces were in tact.

This is the most amazing item . It was a breeze to build. Simple and no help needed. Quality is very good and its beautiful. I have several friends that fell in love with it and will be part of the wayfair family. I need a 2nd one myself. I am extremely happy with my purchase.
