The top is a thin, noisy metal with a speckled paint finish. Definitely more of a plant stand than a side table. The plastic at the tips of the legs isn't flat, so the stands aren't level. It's a really thin metal and I don't think it's worth the $89 I paid for the set. But I spent a lot of time looking for a specific height of table and now I just need to move on to other projects. So these will have to do.

The stand looks a bit shaky, but it stands tall. I like the marble look top and the way the les shape out.
