Sturdy and well built. Color is darker than expected from the picture. My island is cherry and it looked like these were a light brown but they are quite dark and a somewhat distressed finish. The back is primarily for looks. If you really want back support go with a higher back stool. Came fully assembled and well packed which was a plus.

The look and quality of these stools are wonderful. However my stool came cracked and I don’t feel like spending an hour on the phone to rectify the issue
