Very smooth and easy extensions that are attached to the table and slide away simply. The 4 stars is because of the look of the table from the side which isn't very elegant.

The table is beautiful & well-constructed. Easy to assemble, only adding legs. Warning: this is a very heavy table. We needed 3 men to carry it & flip it once the legs are on it. OPEN the box flat with the correct side up as noted on box.
