I love it but it had some minor damage.

I just got this desk today. It’s pretty, but it’s not as advertised. It is NOT solid wood and a bit oddly colored. Clearly the product has changed because the pictures in the other reviews below show a solid wood top. Mine came with a particleboard top with a very, very thin veneer. Maybe the switched to MDF to “fix” the splitting issues. The desk came damaged and it’s off-gassing so much that it burns my eyes nose and throat when near it. I honestly had a hard time sitting at the desk for more than 10 minutes. I reported the damages to Wayfair and immediately upon filling out the information was directed to contact the manufacturer. This is despite noting that it arrived damaged. The message was something like “Don’t worry, the manufacturer is used to handling these kinds of problems and is committed to resolving them”. I’m hoping thisis the case.

I had it for a 6 months and the wood is already splitting and continues to get worse.

Love the wood quality of this set. Very simple and leaves plenty of space in the room
