I am ultimately happy with it and it does what I need. There is a lengthy construction process with 44 steps and a tone of screws; i definitely benefited from gentle use of a power drill for some steps while others needed to be done by hand. there is one type of diagram - that shows how to install the sliding tracks that is initially very hard to interpret. but taking my time and having a second pair of hands for the first half of construction made it work and its more or less exactly what I wanted for the space. eventually when I habe a bigger budget I would prefer hardwood but this is a reasonable solution for a small space. (disclaimer: no one has slept on it yet.)

We love our Murphy Bed! My husband and I put it together which took about 4 hrs. We recommend having two people to assemble it. I liked putting it together and the directions were easy to follow too. The reason I did 4 stars out of 5 is because there was a scratch crack in one of the major pieces and we were already halfway done with putting it together and needed it the next day, so we werent about to take it apart to order another. Also, one of the screw holes broke on the locking piston upon screwing one of the screws in and we didnt even screw it in that hard. The only thing I thought could use some improvement would be with the hinges where a mattress lay. They are raised hitting the mattress and have sharp edges where I feel will rip the matress over time, so we have to be gental placing the matres down.

This product was damaged on two corners of the most visible boards, even though the box looked fine! It weighs almost 200lbs and has dozens of pieces. Packing it back up for a replacement is a nightmare.

Nicely done sturdy easy instructions we had it together in about 3 or 4 hrs, looks very good was delivered very fast!-

I love this Murphy bed. Assembly wasn't difficult at all and can CERTAINLY been done by one person. It took me about 5 hours by myself. Everything went fine, but one piece wasn't drilled properly (which was an easy fix). I love how it looks, and the extra-large drawer underneath is a huge plus.
