This extra shelf was helpful since I’m using the armoire for additional storage of towels, linens, etc.

Great shelf, perfect match

I put together this armoire by myself so it is possible for one person to do it. It took me a long time- at least eight hours. My biggest piece of advice is to make sure you put it together in a room with a lot of space. You need to spread out all the pieces (in order to find them) and then you build it on the floor so you need additional space at least the size of the armoire. I have had this for several years now and have no complaints. Everything works great still and it looks good too. This armoire holds a lot of stuff and has served me well! When I ordered the armoire, I also ordered the extra shelf because I knew that I would want that. Unfortunately, the shelf is a bit bowed. You can see that in the pictures. By the time I was done putting it all together, I didn’t care. And, it hasn’t really bothered me since so I have just left it. You should check that right away though if you order a shelf- I should have asked for a replacement one at the time. Otherwise, I love it!

I am happy with the purchase now that we finally got it assembled, not with out a couple mishaps! Took my husband and I 5 hours to complete. Beware: the instructions to not emphasize which side goes up or in when attaching the first cross beams to the side pieces, and did not realize our mistake until it was carried upstairs and upright! Too late but then to take it apart. Pic #2 shows where I’ll have to stain the shelf edge; we’ll just have to live with the screw holes also in pic #3. Because they do not predrill the holes in the doors for the hinges it is very difficult to start your screw and align the door; even thought it was not recommended, we finally charged up the electric screwdriver after struggling far too long at this point and we’re finally successful with the hinges.
