Update - well, the desk lasted a year and two months for us. My son destroyed yet another one by leaning on it. Unfortunately, any time it's metal soldered to metal, the joints just don't stand up to him. I'm not going to deduct any stars. I think three stars is still good, but you might reconsider if you're buying this for a kid who likes to lean while he's watching YouTube videos. I'm uploading a new photo of the bent desk, which will now be going to the landfill. This desk is for my son, 12, who is very hard on computer desks. The first two he had were essentially just metal carts, and he broke those by leaning on them. Pros: This desk seems very sturdy and functional. It's a little bit larger than the metal carts we used before. Cons: It took me about two hours to assemble (alone), but I always try to go slowly and carefully. The only snag in assembly was with the piece labeled "C" (the small piece on the back). You insert these metal pieces into the holes (sort of like anchors I guess) and they didn't line up perfectly. I had to use some brute force to get the screws in. It wasn't impossible, but if they'd lined up better, it wouldn't have been so hard. Another assembly note is that the instruction drawings seem to indicate you assemble while it's upright, but turning it on its side or back is really the only way to go. It didn't take me long to figure that out. Another con: The keyboard tray doesn't pull out quite far enough. That's the only complaint my son has had with it so far. If they'd given it another couple of inches, it would be perfect. And a minor con - I really don't like the color. It reminds me of those old school desks we used in the '60s and '70s. A nicer, darker wood color would have worked better for me and would have looked a little more elegant.

I really like this desk! Its very sturdy and fits my space nicely. It looks exactly like the pictures. I found the assembly to be rather easy and straightforward. If youve previously put alot of this type of furniture together, you wont have much problem with this desk. However, putting the monitor shelf on the top of the desk was a challenge. Pay close attention to the pictured instructions, as they could have been clearer for this step. Regardless, its a great value!
