Review: Looks Good, But Major Quality Issues
I think the bookcase looks nice once assembled, but unfortunately there were several significant issues:
1. Not sturdy at all. After assembly, the unit wobbles back and forth. For a product described as “sturdy,” this is very disappointing and, in my opinion, unacceptable for a bookcase.
2. Poor construction quality. Despite the description stating it is “crafted with durable materials,” that was not my experience. Several of the metal cam locks (the circular fasteners used in flat-pack furniture) snapped while tightening them by hand with a screwdriver. In addition, some of the longer connector pieces pulled straight out of the wood, which suggests weak particle board construction.
3. Unclear instructions. The assembly instructions were not very clear. I removed the wrong protective film from the lights, and now they don’t sit securely against the shelf. I’ll need to purchase double-sided tape to fix it — something that could have been avoided with clearer guidance.
4. Shelves are not adjustable. The product description states “adjustable shelves,” but the shelves are fixed and cannot be repositioned.
5. No power adapter included. The lighting wiring ends in a USB cable, but no wall plug/adapter is included. Be aware that you’ll need to supply your own.
Overall, it has a nice appearance, but the stability, build quality, and misleading product description make it hard to recommend.
