Bibliothèque moderne en bois massif de grande apparence

The bookcase fits a niche in my room perfectly and the overall impression of it is good. But I’m not totally happy with the quality or finish. The finish itself is very opaque, almost like paint, and there are many areas that were retouched up before shipping. They are not well done and are noticeable. It wasn’t evident from the scant photos in the listing but the upper shelf unit is just screwed on top of the lower cabinet with visible seams on the sides. I thought it would look like one piece but it doesn’t and that makes it look cheaper than what the cost of the unit would have you believe. The doors have nice hinges and are self-closing to the point of slamming if you don’t hold them. Soft-close would have been preferable. It doesn’t light up so I installed touch led lights between the shelves and it looks good. Delivery was great. I probably would not have purchased it if I had seen it in person, and that is the whole thing about buying on Wayfair. Their prices are better than retail but unless people have submitted detailed reviews with photos, it’s kinda risky. And returns are a hassle and super expensive. But I decided to keep the piece because it looks good overall in the room and provides desperately needed shelving.
