I give the desk itself 4 stars, but it's 3-star rating is because Wayfair's deceiving selling tactic. The desk is marketed as being sold by "Loon Peak," but in the box that the desk came in was a pamphlet from a company called "Riverside Benches" which is nowhere to be marketed on Wayfair's page for this product. Nevertheless, out of curiosity I went over to riversidebenches.com and, low and behold, there is the very desk I purchased for $130 cheaper (was on sale at the time of my purchase and, as of now, still on sale). So, I suggest heading over to riversidebenches.com before purchasing this from Wayfair to see even more reviews on this exact product and potentially being able to save money. Now onto the actual review.
The overall construct of this desk is quite good (easy to assemble and sturdy), but there are some flaws with this desk.
I was expecting a wooden top with a light wood grain color to it as depicted in the picture, but I received something that was more the ordinary brown wood grain. Considering this is solid wood, I wasn't expecting exactly what was in the picture, but was expecting something lighter in color. It's still a beautiful desk though - definitely better in looks than the ordinary standing desks.
Another flaw in this design is specific to the keyboard tray. The holes for all mounting points are predrilled on the underside of the desk and, almost everything aligned perfectly, except for the mounting brackets which mount the keyboard tray to the underside of the desk. Keyboard tray has a center-to-center distance of 24.5" and center-to-center distance for the predrilled holes were 24" (see picture - hard to see predrilled holes on desk). The brackets which connect the keyboard tray to the desk are made of very thin sheet metal, so you can bend them inward to get the holes aligned, but you make the keyboard tray flimsier than it already and this can also lead to premature failure of the sliding rails. Also, it seems like the keyboard tray was rushed into production because the screws they provide to mount the tray are almost the same diameter as the brackets clearance hole (see picture). This can be problematic considering the brackets are already flimsy. I personally purchased four washers (they're cheap, so they should have been provided with the screws of the keyboard tray) to add more rigidity and to make sure the screw doesn't get pushed through the brackets clearance hole when tightly securing it down.
Because of the keyboard tray problem, I mark this as 4 stars. (3 stars on rating because of wayfair omitting the true supplier of this desk - go to riversidebenches.com to compare pricing before purchasing from wayfair). This desk without the keyboard tray is $100 cheaper, so I would have purchased the one without the keyboard tray considering my experience with it.
