Style? Exactly what i wanted. Color? Good, and I had ordered free swatches to make sure. Price? $700 for a very basic headboard was way more than I had hoped. I could have had one made for $1000, and should have. Wayfair has shockingly few headboards for Cal King beds. They make hundreds with the King/Cal King fittings, but they are up to 86" wide and a Cal King mattress is 72". The legs show on the side of the bed and it's a terrible look. This one is 74" which is perfect. Sadly, Wayfair has a standard frame that they finish with different top shapes. But, they are mostly 48"-51" tall, which is too short by the time you place the pillows and shams against the headboard, only 6-8 inches is visible on top. If you don't use the legs, and mount it directly on the wall to bring it up higher, then there is a huge gap between the top of the mattress and the bottom edge of the headboard. Today's mattresses are taller and standard headboards without a bedframe need to be styled with taller shapes and styles. making them with wall mounting brackets makes it better for the customer to place it where it is needed. It's rated 3 stars for the high cost. It's a $300-$400 headboard at most. # stars for the height issues. Sad face for the flimsy box that made it difficult for the delivery guys to handle without it ripping open and exposing the item inside.
