I ordered two of these chairs to serve as side chairs in my dining room, and I have to say they’ve exceeded expectations in a way that rarely happens with online furniture purchases. Buying chairs without sitting in them first always feels like a small act of faith — somewhere between optimism and mild recklessness — but these turned out to be a very pleasant surprise.
First, the build quality is solid. I’m not a small person (6’5”), so I tend to notice immediately when a chair feels delicate or decorative rather than functional. These feel substantial and well-balanced, with no wobble or sense that they’re trying too hard to look good at the expense of comfort. The proportions are excellent — supportive without being bulky — and they slide easily under the table without crowding the space.
Stylistically, they strike a nice middle ground. They have just enough character to feel intentional, but they don’t dominate the room or compete with older furniture. In my case, they pair beautifully with an antique dining table, which is no small feat. They manage to look both classic and slightly modern at the same time, like they’d be equally at home in a British pub or a thoughtfully renovated farmhouse.
Assembly was straightforward and refreshingly drama-free. No mysterious extra hardware, no existential crisis halfway through wondering if I’d attached something backwards — just clear instructions and a quick setup.
Comfort-wise, they invite you to linger. These aren’t “eat quickly and move on” chairs they’re “another cup of tea and one more story” chairs. Guests gravitate toward them, which may be the highest compliment furniture can receive.
All told, they feel like a genuinely good find — attractive, sturdy, comfortable, and surprisingly versatile. I’d absolutely buy them again.
