First of all, this sofa is beautiful and great quality! I love the fold-out bed! (5-stars on that). However, in the sofa position, the back and seat are much softer and less firm that I was expecting. I'm short (5 feet tall) and have arthritis in my back and legs, so was hoping for a much firmer sofa that would support me better and comfortably. The problem is that the cushion sinks down in front when I sit on it and lean back, which makes me slide forward. The measurements given in the description for floor to seat and back to front were helpful and very important in my decision. There was some technical information about the firmness, but was not a meaningful description or comparison that was easy for me to understand. I spent a lot of time searching for explanation of the technical info provided, but it was way too complicated. I would have liked more detailed information in "average person" terms about the firmness/softness of the seat and back cushion. I am planning to have the seat and back cushions tufted to firm them up so that I can be comfortable in it. For my purposes, I would not buy this particular sofa again. However, it would be ideal for someone taller.
