This is an excellent chest! I have it in my dining/living room. I placed 2 shallow reed baskets in the upper open area to hide my mail in until I can open and sort. The color is a very deep brown color and goes well with all the other wood hues I have in the house. It is sturdy! Very well made! Drawers slide open easily and close evenly. There's lots of room in each very wide draw for a variety of things. I'm an online teacher and all my props fit into this nicely. And WOW it was packed so well! It took a long time to get it out of all the pachaging layers. I used a flathead screwdriver and pliers to remove the giant sized staples from the packaging. It took awhile, but was so worth it because it came to me without a scratch or dent. The delivery drivers brought it right into my foyer. I love it! It looks even better in person than it does on the website.
