Im really happy with this bed frame! I’m using the panels and headboard to enclose an adjustable platform for my king Tempur-Pedic mattress, so I’m NOT using the slats provided. This seems to be working well so far. I was looking for something similar to RH’s wood and upholstered beds, but without the high price tag. This is a suitable substitution. The bed is solid wood with a deep, dark espresso color—not black, but nearly. The headboard upholstery has a woven texture with a subtle sheen, and it is a true, neutral beige—which lends itself well to either warm or cool color schemes. For visual reference, I pictured the headboard next to a true white cotton sheet,m. The wall behind it is painted “Frost” by BEHR, which is a cool-tone white. (Side note Don’t use BEHR paint splurge for Benjamin Moore).

This bed looks phenomenal, very luxe. The fabric is densely woven and really nice and appropriate for a headboard; has a lot of gray undertones. The frame is quite lovely wood and feels very solid. I debated whether to give this 3 or 4 stars because of the quality of the parts you don't see, which are not nearly as good as another bed I ordered from Wayfair that was a similar price point. First off, this is slatted so you don't need a box spring. The slats are "OK" (for whatever reason my photo upload failed, so I will try to describe) - it's basically just unfinished wood boards, and they don't sit as well as a bunkie board. I'd be inclined to say it's better to get a separate and good quality bunkie board if you're not using a boxspring for this bed. The bigger issue is that the holes for the slats - and more importantly for the "legs" in the centre of the bed are really not machined well. In fact, the little extra legs to support the middle of the bed broke as I started to assemble them - the screws were not in place correctly, I tried to glue with wood glue but that didn't work. I finally gave up and I'm just hoping for the best over time. Assembly is quite easy, I was able to do this myself, the pieces on the queen bed are very manageable, and it comes with bolts and an allen key, so very simple to get the pieces in place and screw them together (apart from those middle support legs that in my case just broke). It is a beautiful bed, and nice wood, but I'm disappointed in the quality of the parts you don't see. However, it's serving the purpose and looking great while doing so.
