Hugues 70" Tall Four-Door Armoire - Disappointing Design Flaw
I was initially attracted to this armoire by its sleek aesthetic and vertical handle design showcased in the product photos. During a sale, the price point seemed attractive, prompting me to purchase three units. However, the reality fell short of expectations in several critical aspects.
The most significant issue is the handle installation. Despite the product images depicting vertically oriented handles, all doors arrived with pre-drilled holes that penetrate completely through the surface. This design constraint forces users to install handles horizontally, completely undermining the clean, modern look that initially drew me to the piece.
Structural integrity is another concern. The armoire is essentially constructed from two smaller units stacked vertically, resulting in less rigidity compared to a single-panel cabinet design. This compromise in construction raises questions about the long-term durability and stability of the piece.
When I reached out to Wayfair, they offered two options: a full return of my order or a partial discount. While I appreciate their customer service, the underlying product issues remain.
For potential buyers, I recommend carefully examining the handle placement and structural design before purchasing. My experience suggests that the actual product significantly differs from its marketing representation.
