The nightstand is made of real wood it is a good size and is very easy to assemble.

I wanted something that would go with the Breux Guthmar Mid-Century Modern Bookcase. The finish is duller than the bookcase, but it was the closest look I could find. I see other reviewers said it was cheap particle board and veneers...mine was solid wood. I also see people complained that the pieces weren't marked. I can't recall if they were, but...there aren't that many pieces to figure out what goes where. And mine had all the correct pilot holes, etc. I was SUPER impressed with the hardware - each type came in its own bag, LABELED according to the directions! ALL pre-pac furniture should follow this example. However, assembly WAS a b****. I put the aforementioned, 5 ft tall bookcase together in an hour. This little nightstand took me two! There are a million wood dowels in two different sizes, and you wonder why they give you SO many extras. Well, that's because the holes they drill for the dowels - or the dowels themselves - are wildly inconsistent in size! So if one dowel won't fit (and you're trying the right size), just try another one! Out of all the extras, one is bound to fit. So...not good quality control in that area... The instructions tell you NOT to use a power tool, for fear of splitting the wood. So I did everything with a hand screwdriver as much as I could. But - it IS real hard wood, so my hand was getting tired. And everything that required you screw it in at an angle was just a bear, so...I did use a power drill. Just use low torque to go slow and carefully and you'll be fine. Also, instructions tell you to put the feet on before attaching the top, back and drawer rails, which I thought made it harder to work with. So I did everything else, putting the feet on last. BUT - if you do that - be sure you're putting on the drawer rails with the correct orientation, or the drawers won't fit correctly when you turn it right side up! Yep, I made that mistake. :-) Luckily, unscrewing the screws was easy with the power tool. As far as quality, I don't like that there aren't "glide" metal drawer rails, just wood pieces to slide the drawer in and out on. Kludgy. But other than that, it's fine.

Cute and functional. Seem solid.

Overall, it's a decent piece for the price. However, overall it is very small for a nightstand. The drawers are smaller and less deep than expected, which greatly limits their storage capacity. The build quality is also just okay—the wooden dowels tend to come loose, making it feel less sturdy over time. It gets the job done, but I'm not confident it's durable enough to last for years.
