I'll preface this by saying "I fully expect these to be trashed within a few years, as I have a busy kitchen and a three year old". That being said, the faux leather has held up well to all sorts of spills, stains, bumps, etc. They don't feel very sturdy but they do the job for now. I purchased a less expensive version, fully expecting to have to replace when the kids are older. Edit 2/13/2026. We've now had these just under 6 years. While I started my first review with an expectation of these being absolutely trashed in a couple years, I am thrilled to report that I was wrong. They're holding up great to a now 8 and 4 year olds daily meals. The kids also like to use these stools as stepladders to get cereal, bread, etc out of the upper cabinets. the chairs are beautiful and very comfortable. The only thing that I was not to pleased with is the bottom of the chairs did not come with any kind of protection for my floors. I just put in new hardwood flooring and I dont want the chairs to scratch the new floors.
