The bed itself is very cute and the velvet upholstery looks nice in person. Assembly was straightforward and the frame seems reasonably sturdy once put together. However, the listing photos are somewhat misleading and the sizing is a bit odd. We used a standard twin mattress that is 8 inches thick, which is a pretty typical height for a kid’s bed. Even with that mattress, the back and sides of the frame look much lower than they appear in the product photos. It seems like the listing images were taken with a very thin mattress or pad, which makes the backrest look deeper and more spacious than it actually is. Another thing to be aware of is the sizing. The frame itself is noticeably larger than a standard twin mattress in both width and length, so a normal twin does not fit snugly. There are visible gaps along the sides and ends, which makes the mattress look like it’s floating inside the frame unless you adjust bedding or add pillows. Overall the design is cute and it works well in our child’s room, but buyers should know that a standard twin mattress (ours is 8 inches thick) will not fill the frame the way the listing photos suggest.
