The back recline is manual. I put one side down and couldn’t get it back up again. We had to take it apart and mess with the ratchet bracket on the back. We will likely not be reclining because it takes too much work to adjust it if it doesn’t come up again. Other than that it’s a decent sofa.

I chose this item because I liked the 2-toned nature of the green base/brown cushions. I also needed a smaller couch (less than 80 inches) for my space, but I still wanted reclining capability. This couch fit my needs! I paid extra to have someone assemble it. Once it was completely assembled, I was told to wait up to 72 hours for the cushions to fully inflate, but the cushions still looked flatter than they do in the picture. They are also not very soft. I really like the couch, but I am thinking of purchasing some new cushion inserts that are softer and more comfortable.

Perfect size, recliners work great - seat backs are manual. Couch is comfy and right seating height compared to larger reclining couches.
