Actually this is quite nice! It’s not difficult to put together. They suggest securing it to a wall, but I didn’t want to do that. It was rather wobbly so what I did was wedge small plastic shims under only the front legs until the back was almost next to the wall. I also weighted the bottom shelf down with books. I don’t have kids so I’m not worried about someone pulling it forward. It looked like assembled furniture until I put my “things” on it and now it looks classy! I like the hammered metal trim. It adds a nice touch! Overall, I’m very pleased!

Nice but difficult to put together

This is the third piece of furniture I put together, ordered from Wayfair, from this same manufacturer. Others were desk and hutch. The bookcase is quite nice and is a great fit with the desk. Beautiful instructions actually on all three of these pieces, and the best I have ever seen on labeling the parts and also all the hardware was segmented into individual packages, listed with the assembly step that corresponded to the instructions. FABULOUS and made it 10x easier than when put together furniture just throws all the hardware in one box. Have never seen something this well organized, and super clear and easy to follow instructions. Plus all the holes in all the right places, nothing off or missing. The bookshelf looks quite nice, is perfectly sturdy, and exact fit to description and photo. I only had one reason to give it 4 instead of 5 stars - the metal corner pieces that are on both sides of each shelf in the front. I think they are mostly decorative (and are really nice) and also provide a little more stability for each of the corners. However, the little tack that hold these pieces in place (there are 3 for each metal corner) are the most difficult part to attach. They get hammered into holes in the metal corner pieces, and are essentially large tacks - also decorative. But given hammering them into wood, they are too easy to bend or even break. I had to try and straighten a few out after the nail portion of the tack got bent, and in some cases it worked, and in others it just broke off. To their credit, they do include a few extras, and I needed them !! So, bottom line, great piece of furniture (especially for the price), looks very nice, stable, and I'll be super happy with it, but those decorative tacks need to be beefed up to hammer into wood and have a higher survival rate.

The bookcase is very nice, although it was delivered with a damaged part. Andrew, the technician who put it together, called Wayfair support and I'm told the new part will be here on Sept. 22. Looking forward to that and getting the rest of our order- the desk and hutch that goes with it!
