This is the corner piece for a bar bench. This is NOT a stool that can be used in a stand alone fashion. The description in the listing is misleading and unclear. I decided to take a chance. The unit is well built and easy to assemble. But I will need to modify it to use as a stool but the price was right so it will be OK
