Not super sturdy. Kind of annoying to put together as well. The slide system is very odd and doesn’t feel stable. I would prefer screws.

We bought another unit and again it arrived and i put it all together in one afternoon my wifes books loooks great on the unit and she is happy

If I could give this zero stars, I would. This is the worst piece of furniture I have ever had. The way it goes together is crazy. It says no tools necessary, it's just supposed to slide together. It is not that easy. The pieces don't fit perfectly, they get stuck and if you need to change anything, good luck getting a piece back out. The cardboard pieces that make up the entire back of the bookcase, have to be bent and snapped into place. So the back of each shelf is three cardboard pieces which you have to bend to fit in. And you have to hold the first piece in place while you snap in the second piece. After you snap in all 15 back pieces of cardboard, you have to put pre-cut pieces of tape on the back to hold it together. Once the finished piece is up, it wobbles and sways side to side. I wouldn't trust this to stay standing,let alone hold books. You would be better off with stacked up cardboard boxes.
