I think this is a very cute bookcase and it's the perfect height for an end-table. It was very easy to put together and I really appreciated that the instructions were one page long. This is getting 3 stars because there are certain finishing touches that could be improved on. The flat pack comes with a plastic doily for the top of the bookcase because the screws that secure the top of the furniture to its shelves are just exposed on top. To that same point, the screws should be countersunk (have a space for the top of the screw) into the top so that they sit flush with the top of the piece. As it is, they do stick up unless you screw the screws VERY hard with the included screwdriver. I need this piece for storage in a bedroom in a hurry, so for now, it will remain the color it is without the countersinks. In the coming weeks, I will likely sand it, add some space for the screw heads in the top, stain the piece to match my furniture (no stars off for color -- it does match the photo!) and put furniture stickers over the screws so they blend in. I just put this piece together and will update my review if anything changes. For the price, I would say this is on par. I would prefer that the manufacturer included the stickers and took the time to countersink the holes (especially if this is for a kids room!), but I can do those things myself.

I just love this! It's actually what I needed. It's been placed right where it's supposed to be.

This sucks ( it looks so cute in the listing but you see all the screw holes on top. It came with this weird doily to cover it but that totally doesn’t go with what I was trying to do with this book shelf. It also looks like raw pine in the photo so I thought I could stain it but it’s all finished with a super shiny clear coat.
