Modway Soma 63" Office Desk

Looks great, I put it together by myself, although it probably took 4 hours. Could have used slightly better instructions on the glides (you take them apart and install each piece individually) and on the back wall insert (I installed backwards and only realized it when I was done that the finished side was on the inside). I am happy with it, the 4 stars is because there really isn't room for the mouse next to the keyboard tray - it fits, but if you're active with your mouse, it's uncomfortable, so I end up moving the mouse to the desk. Plus the ledge on the keyboard tray is uncomfortable because it cuts into your wrist. Otherwise, I'm happy with the desk. I have it set up with 2 large screens and a laptop.

Pros: Good look, file cabinet Cons: Holes do not line up in file drawer, high cost for the materials (the finish has zero texture so it looks like paper) and how hard it was to put together, no cord management/hole in the desk. I really like the look of this desk and that there is a file drawer. It was a beast to put together and as other people mentioned, the holes on the file draw truly do not line up so I had to do a little trial and error and drill more holes than what I wanted. Also the "wood" chipped if I wasn't very careful when I was drilling the lead holes. The top of the desk came in dinged as well. The finish has zero texture and is flat so it's really obvious it's laminate which is disappointing considering the cost. So I had to re-order one along with the side of the file drawer. It was frustrating that I had to take the file drawer out and replace the sides in order to get the drawer to close flush. Lastly, I wish the desktop had a hole for cord management.

Took about 3.54hrs to assemble. Not bad.

Low quality product, I should have known better given the price. It's all particle board, and requires hours of assembly time. I have a damaged piece that I now have to wait and see if I can get a replacement for. Otherwise, this is a critical failure and renders the desk unusable.

Love the color of this desk and the rattan accents. Great storage for what I need. However, I will add: assembly takes a LONG time since you need to put together every single aspect of this desk (including the drawer glides, which were subpar quality and difficult to attach - but nevertheless I prevailed). In total, I spent 4 hours and you'll definitely need an extra set of hands to help you. Otherwise, instructions included were mostly easy to follow and the steps were rather easy - just takes a long time. $500 is a lot to spend on something you need to put together yourself. Quality is what you might expect from Wayfair and MDF/particleboard pieces. Sadly, the desk top piece came damaged (a moderate sized dent/warping effect on the edge smack dab in the middle) which was disappointing after having spent so much money and time on this piece. However, Wayfair customer service offered several options to rectify the issue and ultimately I am satisfied with my purchase. 4 stars for design aesthetic, ample storage, easy to follow instructions and speedy delivery. -1 star for the damaged piece and time spend.
