The material is beautiful. I got the taupe and i was worried it would be too orange or brown, but it's perfect. However, it is hard as a rock. Definitely not to be used as a seat itself. Under the material, you can feel the wood seams on the sides and a very thin padding on top. Its probably a wood box under with a bit of fabric to cover it. The opposite of a pouf.

The ottoman was very hard and the color was more cream than white.

I love the size, weight and shape of this piece. Unfortunately the color I ordered differed from the online images and did not work in my home.
