I would have given the table 4 stars because of a manufacturer defect and some chipped paint on the underside but I love it too much and it really is a very solid, sturdy, and beautiful console table that goes perfect in my entryway. I would definitely recommend having a second person to help assemble this piece. It is heavy and the directions are not clear. As with most things that require assembly and are mass manufactured in Asia there will always be defective parts/pieces and you can expect the directions to almost always be unclear and poorly written. One of the holes was not drilled in alignment with the others but after some maneuvering I made it work and it the end I couldn’t be more satisfied. I will never understand the other reviewers who for example give it 4 stars and then to only say “Excellent” in the review. To me an Excellent anything would warrant 5 stars and if you’re going to give it 4 then maybe say “Good not Great” for example. I see this throughout Wayfair, where in the reviews people talk about how they love an item and item and it’s perfect and then give it 4 or sometimes 3 stars. I don’t understand why if you’re going to take the time to write the review, then why not do it accurately and consistently. Leave it up to us Americans that nothing is ever good enough, or people just don’t understand how the star rating system works which these days with the rampant idiocy in this country would not surprise me!!
