ZERO STARS!! This purchase was a nightmare! From start to finish, this experience with Wayfair has been disappointing, to say the least. First, delivery was pushed back a month, and communication regarding that was poor and all over the place; I had to call customer service multiple times because the emails continued to contradict themselves. First, it was delayed, then they thought it had been lost in transit, then someone said they found it, then someone said it was lost again, and then it was found. When it finally arrived, it was NOTHING like the pictures. The color was completely wrong, and the finish was not at all like the photos Wayfair provides. The finish is waxy, and there is a sheen to it. The photos Wayfair has clearly show a matte finish. After reaching out to customer service to explain this and initiate a return, things became much worse. I was told that I would have to pay $200 dollars for the return. This did not sit right with me. When I explained to the customer service agent I first spoke to that the color and finish were completely different than what is shown on the website, she stated that colors may vary. I asked her why this tidbit was nowhere in the product details or specifications. She did not have a response to that. I tried to explain that what was received looked vastly different than the photos and I should not have to pay a fee for a misleading product description. She asked me to send photos of what I received, which I did. I was then gaslit and told it was probably the lighting. Sorry, last time I checked, lighting doesn't magically make something have a gloss to it when it's "matte". If anywhere it said colors/finish may vary, then I would have known to expect that. She continued to say she could not waive the return fee. I asked to speak to a supervisor. I was given the same runaround. I explained that if they are not going to be transparent about the possibility of color and finish variation, then the customer should not have to pay any sort of fee for a return. She tried to tell me that wood can look different based on the "batch" of wood used. I again explained that the finish shouldn't be different, though. She was not willing to admit to that fact and kept saying lighting can affect the look. She also said many times during our call that at least the product I received was right. As if that should make it all OK that the color and finish were wrong... I asked multiple times for the return fee to be waived, but in the end, she was not willing to waive the fee at all, and then at the very end of our call, she said that I should have looked at recent reviews to get a better idea of what I would be getting. I was astounded by that statement! Zero accountability on Wayfair's end!! She then tried to assure me that the $200 dollar fee for the return would not need to be paid out of pocket but just be taken out of my reimbursement...as if that was supposed to make me feel any better. Nope, I am out $200 dollars because Wayfair would not take accountability for the false advertisement of its products. GROSS! Be careful ordering anything from Wayfair because guess what!? You will have to pay them when you don't get what you think you're getting!!
