Several pieces were damaged. One shelf is badly scratched. But the bottom apron piece is completely broken and cannot be attached. The directions were not clear and the center piece was not marked which end was top and which is bottom. Once I realized the error, I could not take it apart

This is a quality bookcase. It is very heavy and looks really nice. It looks expensive. It arrived as expected. The price for the product was very reasonable. I recommend this bookcase to anyone who is looking for a sturdy wood bookcase.
