This is an incredibly disappointing piece of furniture, and I cannot warn people to stay away from it strongly enough. I'll start by listing the pros: NONE Now that the pros have been listed, I'll move on to the cons: 1. The instructions AND the videos on YouTube are close to useless. There is very little in the way of descriptive information in the instructions which are primarily just diagrams that point out the part numbers. The YouTube videos provide no narrative...they are just animated drawn diagrams of how things go together with music. The directions don't even point out the very specific requirements for attaching the hinges to the folding table to the front of the bed panel. 2. The only actual wood in the entire product is the mattress platform, which is made up of a 2"x2" board down the center, and 6 2"x1" furring strips that are not very strong. Once we put an 8" gel mattress on top of the platform, just sitting on the edge of the mattress you could literally feel the individual cross boards sag and the mattress falling between the boards, which are placed so far apart that there is an 11" gap between each one. I ended up adding 5 1"x6" boards in the gaps and now feel like it can be safely sat or slept on. 3. The rest of the bed is made using pressed fiber board for the larger pieces, and essentially cardboard for the back panels. Once you build the wall frame and the mattress frame, be prepared to be shocked at how flimsy they are. 4. The hardware provided to attach the bed frame to the wall is highly inadequate. The screws are too short to safely attach the bedframe to the wall studs, and don't even think about using the little plastic anchors they included...they would rip out of the wall as soon as you mounted the mattress frame to the wall frame. We used long cabinet screws into studs to attach the wall frame to the wall. 5. Attaching the mattress frame to the wall frame was extremely difficult even with multiple people working on it. Once attached, the hydraulic pistons that are used to allow raising lowing the mattress frame could not be installed without actually removing screws from the L bracket with the pivot points because everything was off by about 1/16". The bottom for this piece of furniture is this...the instructions are maddening; the materials are cheap and flimsy; the mounting hardware is not adequate, and it is simply not worth the stress or headaches of putting this piece together.
