Overall the kit is nice, It took me about 14 hrs so far to put together the bed section and the cabinet with the drawers. The last cabinet will be quick and i still have to anchor everything to the walls. The total project probably takes 20hrs for a individual who is somewhat skilled at these things. My issues are mostly around the instruction booklet. They are not laid out in a useful and logical manner. You have to flip between pages to find out where things are packaged and then build up your pile of parts before starting a section, also they suggest you start with the bedshell but it is most logical to start with the cabinets. It also has some steps that make more sense to be performed in different orders to minimize movement of the objects and make your life easier. They also don't always specify the orientation of parts which is VERY important for later steps. If the instructions were better i probably would have saved 3-4 hrs of labor. My advice is you should set aside your parts before starting a section and read ahead to figure out the best way to construct the kit.

Overall, I am happy with the purchase…but the quality of the product is just average. I ordered the Murphy bed in gray and the panels (doors/front when closed) are very thin and the color does not match exactly. It appears the there was not enough paint coverage in manufacturing and it has a bit of a Green/Gray appearance. I am a pretty handy person and it took my 15 hours to assembly. I did 70% by myself, some steps required a second, and only a couple steps required a third person. For additional stability, I added a few extra brackets to be ensure it was connected to studs. I also added two latches the bed when folded up. Otherwise it doesn’t close tight and sticks out approximately 1”. Latches NOT yet installed in attached photo. Once fully assembled and secured to studs, the Murphy bed feels very sturdy.

This came in five boxes containing 3000 pieces in all. I have a master carpenter and two helpers putting this thing together. We are currently on day two of assembly. None of the predrilled holes line up. It’s going to cost as much as the bed did to put it together. Do not purchase this bed!

The unit I received showed some wear a tear. Was clearly assembled and used as some boards showed heavy wear where they contact the ground, and other boards were split and damaged. All hardware was dumped into one bag that required me to sort it all out which was a pain as there were probably over 500 fasteners. For the price, I dealt with the issues but it should have been listed as an open box item at the very least.
