Chaise Wayfair Where do I start lol What can I say? I have paid for this couch in mid November I believe and just got it today - March 4th. First time it was supposedly shipped, Wayfair reordered it cause the box it came in was damaged so they took it upon themselves to get a “new one” for me. I was traveling for work and did not see the email saying they are reordering the chaise. The email I saw looked like as if I am the one who asked first a reorder. I did not. A week ago they were gonna finally deliver but since they reordered the Chaise - they messed up on putting in the correct address to bring it to. I stayed up prepping the area for the Chaise since my time slot was starting at 7 AM and took a day off to receive it to then have Wayfair email me that the time changed to 2-6 PM - but completely shutting down my whole day and anything I planned since I thought the chaise is coming between 7-11 AM At some point when the driver called me Wayfair realized they did not send it to the initial address I put down at the time I placed the order. I spent a hour on the phone with Wayfair customer service to sort it out. Fast forward to March 4th - I finally got the long awaited chaise. The delivery team was excellent. The two guys bringing in the chaise were polite, careful avd efficient. Now, about the actual chaise couch: “European” leather lol… more like plastic pleather and made in China. The white covering that this chase arrived in (no box) with the SKU and the item # printed on covering said Made in China in black on white. Not sure if any leather was used to make this at all! It’s not even a combo of leather seat/front and substitute leather back. The plastic covered canvas is thin, the wood is solid with minimal scuffs or damage that I was able to somewhat touch up. There are about 5-7 glue spots on the seat and the back from gluing the plasticized “leather” canvas together, the glue is dark in color and very sticky, plus hard to take off. Lining underneath the seat is ripped in two spots closer to the front edge of the couch and sticks down. Most of the couch is held by staples - plain paper staples - see the photos. Mind-boggling considering the couch sells for $3,500 The couch is sturdy otherwise and the cushion seams thick and well added, the pillow that comes with is could not be tackier with its polyester ruffle and thin plastic pleather, check the photos out for the insides. Dealing with Wayfair has become very difficult, my “designated” account consultant is absolutely useless. I feel like a Wayfair repair QA department at this point cause I gotta fix pretty much everything that arrives. And I don’t appreciate false advertising- the Bait & Switch of the lies for this Chaise Couch - LEATHER it is not! And therefore should not cost over 3K - I specifically purchased it cause it said leather! There was no mention of it being held by glue and staples either so not sure how long it will even last. Giving two stars cause it’s a nice design (I wanted a chaise instead of a regular couch for the office space I was setting up) and the delivery was smooth. Update: THIS IS NOT LEATHER! And the flower parts as well as other parts are NOT wood! ITS COMPOSITE AND MOLDED RESIN! I had a specialist come and look at this chase to see if it can be repaired where the glue is sipping through and he has informed me that it is cheap pleather material so nothing can be done! Will be contacting Wayfair to return this and will reach out to American Express to resolve this if Wayfair decides to ignore the issues they have when I first tried to reach my “designated” assigned associate at the company.
