It came broken in multiple places during shipping. It looks like they failed to secure the middle shelf which caused the shelf to move around during shipping and break the shelf, as well as the front and back of the bookcase in multiple places. If this was the only problem, I wouldn’t rate it so low, but the craftsmanship is very poor. Gaps in the joints, visible paint drips and painted in sawdust, obvious table saw marks on the front facing pieces, staple holes not filled in on front facing pieces, and the quality of the wood is very poor (very cheap pine). They brag about it being “solid wood and made in America” but if this is the state of American craftsmanship, it’s sad.

Great finish. Rustic yet a beautiful and quality piece of work. Color is true to description
